“The rolling string figure from the opening became a sort of musical glue, providing a motor to accompany Colterâs determination as the film progressed. Hopefully something familiar to grab on to throughout the film when a melody wasnât really called for. The middle section of the opening was more traditionally melodic, and became the theme for the mystery of what source code is.
[…]
The frozen moment is really the emotional climax of the film, and provided the opportunity to write a theme for Colter and Christina that we were able to parse up a bit and allude to in several earlier scenes, but reserve the full statement for this moment.”

Fascinatingly reworked versions of classic songs illuminate the soundtrack. Intense, sexy, edgy and highly imaginative, these new and unrestrained arrangements of legendary songs, along with the original mash up of Queenâs âI Want It All/We Will Rock Youâ featuring Armageddon Aka Geddy (Terror Squad), are the backbone of the film driving the relationship between the motives of the characters and the lengths they are willing to go for survival.
There are music videos for some of the songs:
Sucker Punch – Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) – Emily Browning
Sucker Punch – Army of me by Björk
A few words from Director Zack Snyder about the soundtrack of Sucker Punch:
“The selection of songs we chose and the various ways in which they were each re-envisioned had to add depth, dimension and meaning to the sequences they exist within.”
Director Zack Snyder
